On February 25, 2019, Cory Booker helped block a vote on the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act.1 This bill would ensure babies who survive an abortion are given the same medical attention a baby born at the same age would receive. 77% of voters support such a law.2 Booker misleads his supporters on the campaign trail by saying that “infanticide is illegal in the legislation is unnecessary.”3

On September 6, 2013 in a private “endorsement memo” to America’s largest abortion provider, Planned Parenthood — leaked via an open Google group — Booker said: “I oppose the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act and the Supreme Court’s dramatic break from precedent in upholding it.”4 Partial-Birth Abortion is a barbaric procedure whereby the aborted fetus is delivered intact instead of in pieces.5 The procedure was federally banned in 2003, after passage of the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act.
Will Force Taxpayers to Pay for Abortions
Cory Booker stated he would reverse President Trump’s restriction on sending Title X Family Planning tax dollars to go to organizations like Planned Parenthood that commit abortions.6
On January 17, 2019 Booker voted “no” on the Hyde Amendment,7 a restriction on abortion funding for Medicaid that is estimated to have saved more than 2 million lives from abortion.8 Booker has called the amendment “a direct assault at the black and brown communities like the ones I’ve been representing for most of my political career,” adding, “I fundamentally stand against the Hyde Amendment. If I’m president of the United States, I will reverse the Hyde Amendment.”9
