Beto O’Rourke supports late term abortions up until birth. In October 2017, he voted “no” on H.R. 36,1 a bill to ban abortion at 20 weeks, a point in pregnancy by which the baby can feel pain.2

When asked by a voter in March 2019 if he supported late term, third trimester abortions, even when medically unnecessary, he answered that he was in favor of women making that choice.

In September 2015, Beto O’Rourke voted “no” on H.R 3504, the Born-Alive Survivors Protection Act,3 a law that would stop infanticide and require doctors to care for babies who are born alive after failed abortions.

During a campaign stop on March 20, 2019, Beto O’Rourke doubled down, refusing to say he would support the bill.
